I took a picture of Csók (kiss in Hungarian) at Bory Castle in Székesfehérvár, Hungary. Jenő Bory was the sculptor, project supervisor, foreman, and mason for his dedicated works at Bory Castle which built with a help of few. More than a hundred sculptures can be seen, where Jenő’s presence is palpable. However, among several hundred sculptures, Csók captured my attention the most, even though it was not taller than 20 cm, alongside giant artworks.
During our lifetime, we seek happiness, love, care, inspiration, serenity, or peace. Contrary to the time we invest in the pursuit of these emotions in places where we are not meant to be, fewer people discover them. Furthermore, amidst the pursuit of our desires, we often overlook the inherent value of what we’ve already found.
That was the exact feeling I had when I took the picture of the kiss. Not appreciating the significance of what is already present in our lives. To see the beauty in the small picture, to relax and relieve the heaviness on your shoulders, to smile at those around you, to free your mind, to make small mistakes, to take a deep breath and connect with life, or just to kiss someone you love.
